Black and White is my thing

Hi, great that you’ve found my Ron Steenvoorden Photography website. After 45 years of taking photos I’ve finally arrived at the point where I realise that I don’t need the latest gear, best lenses and other heavy equipment to take great photos. I just use what I carry with me, and that is my latest model iPhone. Taking photos gives me tremendous pleasure, when I’m in nature or when I’m in the city. The process of transferring my ideas of a “nice photo” into a digital file is what I love and with my iPhone I can realise just that. Thanks.

My Fav Cities
Berlin (East), Dresden, Erfurt and Chemnitz are my favourite cities to wander in and to take lots of photos of. These cities share the same history: being part of the German Democratic Republic (GDR). All four suffered more or less damages during World War II and as a result you’ll get a nice mix of various architectural periods, often next to each other. Food for the hungry photographer. 😊
Water and Wood
As a former resident of the Scottish Isle of Islay I took thousands of photos of this beautiful island and in other parts of Scotland. Living on an island, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, and easy access to many beaches keeps the camera and the photographer busy. But I equally love the trees and the forests in the area where I live now.
